INTERACT

The Interact section of this practice-oriented site is the on-ramp to a range of links and mechanisms with which to engage other groups and individuals with similar interests from around the world. Such avenues might include: ongoing or self-initiated forums, global exchanges, good governance (social &/or professional) networks, online workshops, wikis and related, Web-driven links. Essentially, if the purpose of the interaction is relevant to helping practitioners improve their performance – through practical illustrations, tools and techniques – and/or helps promote a more positive image of public service worldwide, we will find a way to help you connect with potential colleagues in the global community of practice.

In addition to providing insight into today’s public sector challenges and solutions, one of the major purposes of the Good Governance Worldwide web site is to help forge a more global network within which participants can share their challenges – particularly in emerging democracies and modernizing countries – and connect with others who may have invaluable experience on such matters not available within a more limited professional community. In this regard, the online presence seeks to cultivate a worldwide network of practitioners, applied researchers, trainers and development consultants that regularly interacts through virtual means and periodically come together (both virtually and face-to-face) at events to share best practice information and forge personal and professional relationships across disciplinary and national boundaries. Lastly, we envision that creation of such a vibrant presence will yield a more positive public sector narrative that contributes to a more favorable view of public service and public employees and increased understanding of how "good governance" contributes to advancing the goals of good societies around the world.
